Season's Round Up # 72: BALENCIAGA FALL-WINTER 2013
One of the most anticipated shows this FW2013 - if not the most anticipated - Balenciaga's showing which is Mr. Wang's first for the house.
The overall feedback is that he made a really impressive start. It's been said that Wang had been busy in the label's archives and as the critics have dubbed it it's evident in this collection. He imbued the collection with a sense of shape and played with the idea of an day to evening wardrobe. As expected too, he centred it on a black and white palette with only grey fur to break it up. Be that as it may I still think he could have done more. Im starting to see vestiges of what he is well-known for as a designer [which in my opinion is great for his own label] and it worries me that it will kill what Balenciaga as a fashion house stands for. Well I guess we'll have to see what he'll do next season and hope that he'd really stay true to course as he's done this season.
