SEOUL: DAY 2

Day 2 started a little bit early -- way way early as a matter of fact. One of the perks the hotel I stayed at was that H&M was just right below me and on this day, the Marni at H&M collection launched. Being a fan of Marni and of the collection - of course I had to run down and get me some of the pieces. Woke up 3am and went down to queue but because there were around 40 people only and due to the wintery cold, I decided against staying and went back up to grab some shut eye. 6am was when I woke up again and this time I decided to stick it out and it paid off!

Got a pretty decent queue number an hour later so went back up to my room to freshen up for my 10am shopping spree. The day was beautiful [evident from the view from my room] and I was rearing to get shopping! The haul from the collection, I guess, says it all.

Sad to say I wasn't able to grab any of the men's pieces; they were the first ones to go! But I was glad as I got hold of some amazing pieces from the women's collection. J'adore!!!

Well, after I was rejuvenated from my spree, I was now ready to face more of Seoul. First up in the agenda was Insadong - a busy street filled with local art shops, bookstores, tea places, street food and of course Korean restaurants. Post lunch, we went around and we spotted this little gallery that had ducks on display. Yes you read that right - ducks. There were a lot of quirky installments that honestly got me squealing in delight. Inspiring to say the least!

Went around further and decided to have tea at the Tea Gallery - My Beautiful Tea Place. Oh, don't get put off by the name! The place is amazing and the tea they serve even more spectacular.

I had the Sweet Hydrangea Tea, which in all honesty is the best tea I've ever tasted! It has a pungent odor but when you drink it, it's not even there! It has a clean, sweet taste that is just addicting; I had to buy a pack to have here in Singapore.

We also spotted this uber cool dessert place that makes Dragon's Beard - a sweet delicacy made of honey strands, filled with either peanuts, almonds or chocolate. It is said that back then, these are delicacies prepared for royalty and now made available to everyone. What's interesting about this is the process it's made as it's formed from a solid rock piece of honey and turns into this melts in your mouth delicacy due to the thousands of fine strands of sweet honey.

Wrapping up the day, we passed by the area around the Changdeok Palace to get an early glimpse of the following day's agenda - and I must say we were thrilled with the prospects. A big old Palace that looked amazing on the outside looking in.

The day ended on a high note. It was such a beautiful day that we just went around 'till the sun set.
