To kick off things for a.Musings – a section in a.Fasione which is all about ramblings of my own personal experiences – I’ll be talking about change. There are times when change is good, there are times when they aren’t. I think changing my hairstyle last week is one of those times when I classify it as the latter. I’ve haven’t changed my hairstyle for quite some time and I thought that it’s about time that I did. So last week, I decided to just go for it and cut it short – thinking either a pageboy or a pixie cut ala Emma Watson would do well. I ended up having a pixie hair cut which with my original hair color of black made me look too tough.
I then decided to soften it up by having it colored and boy was that a big mistake! My stylist suggested going for this reddish-brown hair color, which turned orange on me. And of course, I freaked [if you’re going to ask me for photos, you really don’t think that I would document such a horrendous experience would I?]. 3 colors later, on top of a burning scalp from bleaching, I ended up with a color -ash blonde- that I could live with.
At the end of it all, I’m still not satisfied with the end result. Though people say it looks good on me [including the final color], I’m still thinking of having it re-colored when my hair grows back a bit to something like a dark brown. Lesson from all of this, I should just trust my instinct on what I think looks good on me.
