LOUIS VUITTON FALL-WINTER 2015: THE IT COLLECTION
Louis Vuitton closing off Fall-Winter 2015 fashion week has somewhat been a tradition. This year, under the helm of Ghesquire the storied fashion house does not disappoint. 3 collections in and we see him getting his confidence as the new creative director. This season, he pushes on with the dressing the IT GIRLS - showcasing clothes that cleverly combine savvy, rock & roll vibes with retro modernity. I definitely saw a lot of pieces fashion girls such as Chiara Ferragni (who was visibly snapping away in the front row) definitely pulling it off - while the rest of us pine away.
Watching the show, my shopping list definitely grew by bucket loads from the luscious & voluminous white fur coats (which I can never wear in the heat of Singapore weather) to the logo shirts paired with structured blazers and trousers. I am also in love with the trousers that had drawstrings - somewhat of an irony having a tailored piece with such a mundane fashion detail. Further, the chain belts dangling with silver medallions and the signature Damier Louis Vuitton transposed in fuzz on jackets was something special.
Yet again, this season we see a special collection of accessories that will definitely drive avid fashion collectors cray. Those vanity case bags that evoke the luggage heritage of the house have caught my eye. I am also in love with the renditions of the Petit Malle and the gorgeous printed Malletage and Twist bags.
All in all it was a collection covetable of a modernised rock & roll chic. Structured yet laid back. Controlled yet free & easy. Season after season, Louis Vuitton keeps me enamoured, building my love for the brand more and more. I can't wait to see this collection in stores erstwhile looking forward to what Spring-Summer '16 will bring.
